TL;DR

I won’t attempt to eulogize Steve Jobs because I didn’t know him personally. Yet, when I heard the news yesterday night I experienced a pang of loss as if he were family.

Steve

The only thing I can write about with any certainly was the impact he had on my life. It’s not stretch to simply say that I’d be in a completely different line of work if it weren’t for him. The passion and attention to minutia that he injected into each of Apple’s products consistently reminded me to do the same; reminded me to never settle for mediocrity.

Some people called it a reality distortion field, but what I saw when I looked at Steve Jobs presenting a new product was a man who was incredibly proud and excited to show you something that he and his team knew you’d love, and more often than not he was right. We could learn a lot from that.

Steve inspired everyone around him to do amazing things. He inspired me to pursue my creative endeavors and never stop learning. As so many have already commented, I have no doubt he’ll be counted among the ranks of Edison, Ford, and Disney.

Condolences to his friends, family, and to Apple.
