Down in DC, seeing all of the furloughed federal workers experiencing fear, uncertainty, and doubt because our then-president threw a temper tantrum when he couldn't get what he wanted, I wanted to help in some way beyond donating. I partnered up with Equality Equation to shoot and edit footage of the amazing work being done by Chef Jose Andres and his teams + so many volunteers. Emotions ran high for those ~5 weeks because so many people were living paycheck to paycheck, unsure of whether they'll be able to remain housed, trying to just find their next meal. The work Jose did here literally changed their lives and gave them hope. It was powerful.
